STAFFThere is a small staff team to support these objectives CHIEF EXECUTIVEJeremy Nicholl's work has increasingly focused on finding ways for organisations to better understand and then manage the social value they create. He has co-written a number of guides to SROI and also developed the SROI Primer with London Business School. He has developed an online version of SROI and worked on many SROI analyses for private, public and third sector organisations. He is a fellow of nef (the new economics foundation) and he co-founded the Beta Model Ltd, a business that provides on line access to reports on trends and dynamics in business size and numbers in the UK. He is the chair of FairPensions and a board member of the FRC Group. OFFICE MANAGERTania Vera- Burgos is responsible for finance, supporting the assurance process and our training. training managerTim Goodspeed is an experienced trainer and practitioner, whose specialisms include social enterprise development and social accounting. In Yorkshire, he led on the development of Social Enterprise Link - the largest social enterprise initiative outside of London . Recently, Tim has been focusing on the application of social accounting tools to meet the business needs of social enterprises. He is a qualified social accountant with experience of the Social Audit Network (SAN) process and Social Return on Investment (SROI). Tim has led on the development of Selling added value an application of SROI to the procurement agenda for social enterprises - giving organisations the skills to demonstrate their added value in line with their buyer’s priorities using SROI. The BoardCHAIRSheila Durie operates in the fields of social enterprise development, mental health and employment policy and organisational development. She has completed a large pilot programme on SROI, working with Forth Sector and supported by the Scottish Government and the European Equal programme. This helped 8 organisations implement SROI, resulting in 10 SROI reports across a spectrum of activities in the social enterprise and social economy sectors. During this pilot, building on her academic background in psychology, she developed new methods for measuring and financialising ‘soft outcomes’ such as employability, social capital and health improvement. She is the chair of ‘Social Enterprise in East Lothian’, a Board member of Social Firms Scotland and is chair of Re-Union Canal Boats Ltd. FINANCE DIRECTORKarl Leathem founded Lodestar following contributions to the development of the Social Firms model in the UK. In the last 9 years through his consultancy work he has developed special expertise in enterprise models mainly for the benefit of excluded people. To date he has completed 11 SROI studies with 3 more in progress. Work completed includes two NI based demonstration projects in the areas of specialist employment training & the arts. Others have included work in England with a theatre company run by people with learning disabilities, a credit union, a social housing project, a supported employment project in Ireland, an employment training project in Budapest, Hungary and a study carried out on behalf of Arts & Business. Karl’s current SROI projects include a study of community work at one of Belfast’s “Interface areas”, and a national study with Circles Network UK. directorJenni Inglis is consultant on social value in public service markets. Current work includes support to social enterprises selling to the public sector in the West Midlands and training and bespoke projects for Local Authorities on commissioning for Social Value. Recent work includes a supplement for commissioners to the Social Return on Investment (SROI) Guide published by the Cabinet Office, contribution to a study of social value created by social enterprises supplying mainstream health and social care for the Department of Health and major research into social enterprises in an English Region. Previously at Social Enterprise East Midlands, she initiated and contributed to “Social Enterprise and the Public Sector, a practical guide to law and policy” and was a Board member for the Office of the Third Sector Social Clauses Project. She has an MSc in Responsibility and Business Practice from the University of Bath (2007). directorRichard Kennedy operates in the field of social investment and is part of the Breakthrough team at CAN. His roles and responsibilities include measuring of the economic, social and environmental performance of the fund as well as managing relationships with social entrepreneurs and CAN's corporate partners. Richard has an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Cape Town University and London Business School specialising in social enterprise and was a finalist at the Global Social Venture Competition 2007 held at Haas Business School in San Francisco.
